Salvatore Principe's steadfast dedication to enriching people's lives through his deeply abounding, expressive, and affecting art is reflected in this special edition wine collection. His "hearts" series is inspired by the spirit of life celebrated through human emotion. This Cabernet Sauvignon embodies the essence of Salvatore's work. It is complex and beautifully crafted. Grown in a soil mixture of sand and stone in the foothills of Andes, the grapes are sourced from the highest commercial vineyards in the world. At over 1,700 meters (5600 feet) above sea level, altitude plays an instrumental role in the development of the grapes. The warm, strong sunlit days followed by cool nights favor a slow maturation process allowing full development of flavors, acids and tannins. The grapes are hand harvested from low yielding vines creating a wine that is rich in color showcasing dark plum and cherry flavors accented by layers of chocolate. Twelve months of oak aging adds character and tantalizing tannins. Pair with your favorite pasta dish or grilled meats.

Salvatore was inspired to paint hearts after his mother passed. To him, the heart is an extension of her unyelding support of him in his quest to be an artist. It goes hand in hand with his ideal of spreading love, goodwill and positive energy throughout the world.

The three hearts you will find in this first installment of the Artist's Collection are: 'Paris', 'Dayle', and 'Madrid', inspired by the people and places in his life.

Zephora Haddon worked closely in all facets of design and branding with the Prestige Wine Group and artist Salvatore Principe to create the Salvatore Principe wine brand that launches in the fall of 2008. The exciting launch party will be held at the prestigious W Hotel in Minnesota, where the Prestige Wine Group hails, in October.

The delicious Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Cafayate Valley of Argentina and embodies the essence of Salvatore's work: complex and beautifully crafted. As it is just now launching the Awards are pending, but because of its scintillating quality the expectation is that there will be several. Subsequent varietals are already being specially formulated where each new varietal will showcase more of Salvatore's stunning works.
